In today's world, a father and a son rarely have quality time together - to talk, to laugh, to really get to know each other, learn from each other, and build life-long bonds.
The Y-Indian Guides is a program designed to bring fathers and sons together to build strong, lasting relationships. They do this by spending time together and doing fun and educational activities. Father's and son's 5-12 years of age are eligible to participate.
Indian Guide "Nations" are local groups of "Tribes", which consist of approximately 10 families. The Tribes meet once a month at members' homes on a rotating basis. Tribes also participate in field trips, competitions ("War Games"), local Nation and statewide Nation camp outs, civic events, and more.
Meeting dates, times and activities are determined by the Tribe to fit into everyone's schedule. The meetings provide a forum for spending time together, playing games, doing crafts, and other activities that often focus on helping "Little Braves" to earn feathers, bear claws, and ribbons that apply toward Indian Guide achievement goals.
